Who am I: paulina

 Who am I?

Most of the images in this post contain cultural elements which are of big importance in my life. I am half Guatemalan and half Mexican and I am the daughter of two proud immigrants who started their life here in Virginia. I included a picture of my mother's hand next to mine because she is the biggest influence in my life, she gave me the work ethic I have today, and without her sacrifices, I wouldn't be the same person I am today. The images of the medicine on the table are a representation of how sick I often tend to get. The scrubs laid out and the equipment next to it are a symbol of who I want to be when I grow up, I want to be a nurse. Specifically a NICU nurse. The yellow leaf next to my yellow hoodie simply represents my two favorite things which are fall and the color yellow. I am a huge book worm specifically poetry thus the two books stacked on each other. The drawing was done by Olivia who I met through the peer mentoring course. I included that because meeting all of them really impacted my life and inspired me to look into careers that help people with special needs. Lastly the certificate and the coffee beans, i included it to demonstrate my work ethic.
